“Just give it a try, you might like it,” Bergado said. She is willing to try anything new that is interesting and different, and encourages everyone to challenge themselves, even if you’re uncomfortable with it. In addition to painting and making jewelry, Bergado enjoys needlepoint and making baskets from pine cones. From there, she found the internet, which offered mixed-media courses that “opened a whole new world to me,” she said. She had always liked the feel of paintbrushes and decided to explore some painting classes. Before retiring, she enjoyed making jewelry, and participated in craft shows in New Jersey.Īfter settling in Florida, Bergado realized she wanted to pursue more art. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Florida in 2015. Originally from New York, Bergado then moved to New Jersey. He proceeded to make an extensive list from which she tried to comply.
